We had to beat cream for our apple crumble with a whisk because the power was out. Unfortunately Tyler went a bit overboard on his turn and it almost turned to butter!

Billy Rybarczyk dropped by while doing Western Power work in the area. He fell in love with our little girl.

We got to see Uncle Ian and Auntie Sharon again at Forest Hill winery for lunch.

Bath in a blackout

We had a cold, dark but very adventuous holiday in Walpole. There was a wild storm the first night we were there, and two whole days and nights with no power. With mum and dad away, Prue and Tyler managed to figure out the generator to get the pump working and water flowing and we gave the candles a good burn. The storm left trees and branches down all over the farm.

The kids were getting smelly so we heated water on the pot belly stove and gave them a bucket bath. They quite enjoyed it. Elijah tried to sit down in the bucket but got a bit stuck!

Happy Birthday Ella

This is Elijah and Devery's 1 year old cousin Ella and Uncle Rusty. Elijah is crazy about Ella and always talks about her.

Sam loves the babies sooooo much. He is forever pointing to one of them and saying "Who's this one?" It's a bit confusing isn't it Sammy! Lucy is the one with big hair.

What a super helper!

We don't force Elijah to work all the time - he just loves to help us with our chores, meaning it takes twice as long to do everything but we have a lot of fun! We always tell him he's a super helper and he beams with pride.

The nights have been pretty cold, so Kate, Sam and Elijah get rugged up in their 'bunny suits'.

Rain, mud and lots of fun!

After church on Sunday Elijah managed to sneak outside and crawl through a big puddle before we could stop him. Since he was already filthy, we just let him run around have a ball in the rain and mud. It was a new experience for him! He got to have a lovely warm bath afterwards.
