My best mate

This is Sammy, my best mate. We play together a lot. Sammy's a couple of months older than me, but we'll be in the same school year. Maybe we'll be in the same kindy class! Mummy thinks that I might be a bit of a softie when I grow up, so I hope Sammy will stick up for me. He does things that I can't do yet, like roll over and sit up. He also gets to eat rice cereal and potato. I just eat my fingers. Sammy misses his mummy at night so he wakes up a couple of times to see her. I prefer to just keep sleeping till the morning. My mummy misses me but she doesn't mind if I sleep all night. When I wake up after a night of sleep I feel so nice and relaxed. I like to just lie in my cot and suck my fingers or try out my new sounds for a while. But then when I get hungry I let mum know and she comes and gets me out of bed. That's when I realise how desperate I am for a drink, and I can't get to the yummy milk quick enough. Sometimes if I wake up before daddy leaves for work, he comes and gets me and he sings a silly 'good morning' song. I think it's funny, but I'm glad when he takes me to mummy for a drink. That's all for today cos I'm off to the park with Sammy.
P.S. I love my grandparents!

So cute!

All of that playing in the pool and bath must have worn little Elijah out!

Playing and relaxing

Elijah has a new friend, Emma. She is 6 months old and a bit more advanced than Elijah, but is lighter than him! He thinks she's pretty great. We're having lunch with her and her mum Lisa tomorrow.

We've enjoyed some backyard cricket at the Malcolm's house.

Tyler would watch cricket all day if I let him, and he seems to think Elijah likes it too. I'm not so sure!

Massages all round

Elijah is once again all tuckered out after a swim, in the arms of Uncle Matt.

Sporting wounds

Elijah and I had a lovely day, going for a walk with Claire, Corinne, Katie and the boys and playing on the swing. Elijah also had a 5 hour nap, so we'll see how tonight goes!
You can see here that Elijah is sporting some wounds after playing with Katie (who loves him very much)
Sammy has some too. He is tough little guy.

Kinny loves those boys so much!

What's that look for, Elijah?

Swimming and bathing

Elijah tolerates his swim . . .
. . . and enjoys his post-swim bath.

Shopping

I got pretty worn out shopping in Geraldton yesterday. Thanks for carrying me Auntie Corinne!

Things Elijah finds relaxing . . .

Church

Church is at 8am here in Dongara, which is a bit of a stretch, but not too bad. Today was Matt's first day behind the pulpit and he did a fantastic job. The mums, Claire, Corinne and I, sit up the back with our boys and Kate, although she doesn't sit still for all that long. I think she's starting to feel comfortable in her new church, although the organ still freaks her out!

Elijah goes swimming

Yesterday while I went and tried out the local tennis club (I had a great time), Tyler took Elijah to Matt and Corinne's to swim in their pool. It was his first swim, and apparently he cried for the first 30 seconds (who wouldn't?) and then enjoyed it.
Sorry we only have before and after photos since all hands were busy keeping two babies and a toddler afloat in the pool.

Sammy and Elijah in their swimmers.

Swimming wore Elijah out. He fell asleep on the way back into the house.

words and pictures, pictures and words. snapshots of life as Tyler, Penny, Elijah, Devery and Geordie Swartzentruber know it.
