Well, our little man turned 2 yesterday and what a fun day it was. We went out for morning tea at Lisa's house and she surprised us by throwing a little party for Elijah, with balloons, streamers and a cake. Some of his little friends were there, as you can see below.

When the cake came out he wandered over to the window!

But we coaxed him back and he helped the other kids blow out the candles

In the meantime, Devery and Fred were having a bit of a cuddle

What a sweet picture!
When we got home the postman was dropping off a birthday box from Grandma and Grandpa
We called them up on Skype and they watched on while he opened his presents from them. We are so blessed to have this technology so that we can share special moments like this with our family who are far away!
We went to the playground in the afternoon and you couldn't wipe the smile off Elijah's face!
In the evening we had a small BBQ with friends and Elijah opened some great presents.

He had lots of help opening them.

He loves his new tractors, cars and trucks. And he even has a new garage to put them all in!

His new toys were a real hit with Sammy and Charlie too.

Here is the tractor cake.

You can tell that this is mummy's first attempt at making a birthday cake!

Mummy had really hoped that Elijah would recognise it as a tractor and he eventually did, with some prompting from Sammy (who had been primed!)

All the kids wanted to tuck in right away so it didn't last long!
As I type this it is nearly 5pm the following day and Elijah has been in bed for 4 hours. He refused to have a nap yesterday as he was just too pumped! Today he is exhausted and is making up for lost sleep. That's nice for his mummy!

Devery's first splash

We had a really warm day in Dongara today and it was so fun for me to take Elijah and Devery down to the foreshore for a play. Thanks Henriette for coming with us and taking these photos.

As you can see, she loved it!

Elijah played with this dog the whole time we were at the foreshore

A special kiss for mummy

Gorgeous pictures on the playmat

Elijah is so good to his little sister and they already love each other so much.

Lucy and Devery just started noticing each other and interacting a bit. It's so fun to watch!

Tourists

When a whole pile of elderly tourists got off this bus near the foreshore, Sammy and Elijah were determined to get on it. The kindly driver was obliging.

Cute kids

Aunty Pip lugged Elijah from the train station to Nanna's house in the baby carrier. What a workout!

Poor Thomas couldn't get his cast wet in the bath. He has a broken heel.

We went on a big ship called the Doulos

The kids had baths in the laundry sink. Quite cosy.

Elijah was quite taken with Jessica Turner when we caught up with her and her parents

We went for a lovely walk along the beach path
