Well, our little man turned 2 yesterday and what a fun day it was. We went out for morning tea at Lisa's house and she surprised us by throwing a little party for Elijah, with balloons, streamers and a cake. Some of his little friends were there, as you can see below.

When the cake came out he wandered over to the window!

But we coaxed him back and he helped the other kids blow out the candles

In the meantime, Devery and Fred were having a bit of a cuddle

What a sweet picture!
When we got home the postman was dropping off a birthday box from Grandma and Grandpa
We called them up on Skype and they watched on while he opened his presents from them. We are so blessed to have this technology so that we can share special moments like this with our family who are far away!
We went to the playground in the afternoon and you couldn't wipe the smile off Elijah's face!
In the evening we had a small BBQ with friends and Elijah opened some great presents.

He had lots of help opening them.

He loves his new tractors, cars and trucks. And he even has a new garage to put them all in!

His new toys were a real hit with Sammy and Charlie too.

Here is the tractor cake.

You can tell that this is mummy's first attempt at making a birthday cake!

Mummy had really hoped that Elijah would recognise it as a tractor and he eventually did, with some prompting from Sammy (who had been primed!)

All the kids wanted to tuck in right away so it didn't last long!
As I type this it is nearly 5pm the following day and Elijah has been in bed for 4 hours. He refused to have a nap yesterday as he was just too pumped! Today he is exhausted and is making up for lost sleep. That's nice for his mummy!

Happy birthday Elijah! I am glad you had lots of fun with your friends and got so many fun presents. If you ask me, that tractor cake looks great. Good call on the next-day nap - enjoy them while you can.
